  Cosy Home Spa Ideas

Winter's almost here, so we've thought up some cosy ideas for you to stay indoors without missing out. Turn your lounge, bedroom or bathroom into a spa for an afternoon and treat your loved one to some pampering. It can be as relaxing giving a massage as receiving, though remember that reciprocation of any gift is key.

transform your environment

1. Create a special space for the experience, tidy up the room, decorate with a big vase of flowers, a pot plant, a few sumptuous silk cushions, candles.
2. Draw the curtains and close the door for privacy and to create a more intimate, quiet space.

Wicker baskets, bamboo mats and wooden ornaments can create a relaxing, rustic feel

& yourself

1. Have a shower or bath to soften your skin and relax your body.

2. Adorn a towel or robe made out of toweling.
3. Remember to heat up the rooms if its a cold day.

treat your body

Face & feet
1. Sit the “candidate” in a comfy chair, feet in a basin or foot spa of warm water into which you've sprinkled divine scent for relaxing feet.
2.Dip face cloth in warm/hot bowl of water and press to face to open pores. Pat dry and apply the chosen mask – exfoliating mask is a good one to start with. (You can use a skin tightening mask or mud pack later.) Apply the mask as per the directions on the packet. Clean off with the hot water and face cloth. Gently rub in lotion and massage the face for about five minutes.
3. Remove feet from basin and dry them off.
4. You can now apply a facial mask for deep cleansing or skin tightening.

Serve sparkling water in champagne glasses as a special touch.

Manicure & pedicure
5. Take a break while the face mask is working to start manicure and/or pedicure.
6. Wash off the face mask, pat dry. Apply lotion to face and hands.

Music is not essential - try sharing a quiet moment for a more intimate experience.

Neck, shoulders & back
7.Lie candidate on bed, face down. Rub on the desired mask to the back, as per the directions on the packet. You'll probably need a basin of hot water, cloth and towel handy to clean off the mask.

Cool off
8. Apply cooling gel to the feet. Rub in - let this be the start of the massage...

& uplift your soul

1. Select your style of massage and starting at the feet, work your way up the calves, back of the thighs, buttocks, spine, back, shoulders and neck.

What you'll need:

-candles
-flowers
-cushions
-towels
-basin
-cloth
-manicure set
-essential oils
-massage oil
-mineral water
-lots of time...

About Massage

There are over 60 kinds of massage therapy. Techniques range from ones that aim to unify mind-body, to the alleviation of injury or pain. Some techniques are session-based gradual programs to achieve a goal. Others are ongoing and lifestyle-oriented.
Many of the more recent techniques have been broken down into manageable programs due to the busier lives led today while the more ancient techniques are meant to be continuous and integrated into everyday routine.
Massage works on specific regions of the body, such as the skin, myofascial tissue (surrounding the muscle), muscle tissue, lymph nodes, cerebrospinal fluid, abdomen (chinese center of chi or energy).
